About

At Flora Medical Clinic, Dr. Bharati Kolte delivers Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine to adults in Northwest Austin. She founded the practice in 2014 after spending over a decade in hospital-based medicine across Austin. Her work with chronically ill patients at Austin Regional Clinic's Advanced Care Coordination Clinic from 2011 to 2013 sharpened her focus on lifestyle as a treatment tool. Flora Medical Clinic operates on two tracks: Direct Primary Care for non-Medicare patients and traditional Medicare with Medigap for Medicare patients. The practice does not accept commercial insurance for new patients. Dr. Kolte and her team of Nurse Practitioners address the core pillars of health, including diet, movement, sleep, stress management, and community. Whole food plant-based diet therapy sits at the center of the clinical approach. Lifestyle programs, including OsteoFit, MindFit, and a Diabetes Prevention and Reversal Program, run through the sister practice Gain Health, located next door. The related nonprofit Flora's Whole Plantry distributes whole plant food to economically disadvantaged patients on the first four Saturdays of each month.
