About
Dr. Bharati Kolte grew up in Nagpur, a mid-sized city in central India. She earned her medical degree from Government Medical College in Nagpur. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She holds board certification in both Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, earning the latter in 2017. Dr. Kolte has practiced medicine in Texas since 2000.
Her first thirteen years in practice took place in hospital-based medicine at the Heart Hospital of Austin, Seton Medical Center, and other Austin-area hospitals. Caring for chronically ill patients at Austin Regional Clinic's Advanced Care Coordination Clinic from 2011 to 2013 shifted her focus toward lifestyle-driven treatment. She founded Flora Medical Clinic in 2014 to pursue that approach full time. Dr. Kolte leads quarterly Lifestyle Change Counseling discussion groups on Friday afternoons and serves as Treasurer of Flora's Whole Plantry, the clinic's related nonprofit. Outside of medicine, she loves to sing, cook, and spend time with her family and neighbors in Austin, where she lives with her husband, two children, and their dog.
