Happy Trails Pediatrics uses age-based monthly membership tiers. Infants from 3 months to 2 years (Curious Climbers) pay $250 per month. Children ages 2 to 6 (Mini Mountaineers) pay $200 per month. Kids ages 6 to 12 (Expedition Enthusiasts) pay $175 per month. Teens 13 and older (Summit Seekers) pay $150 per month. Families can cap their total at $400 per month under the Campfire Crew family maximum. A one-time family registration fee of $150 applies at enrollment. Members who pay annually receive a 10% discount.

Membership covers unlimited visits with no copays, no surprise bills, and no insurance billing. It includes well-child visits, sick visits, in-home house calls, telemedicine, developmental screenings, in-house testing for strep, flu, COVID, glucose, and anemia, and minor procedures like laceration repair, splinting, and wart treatment. Mental health care for ADHD, anxiety, and depression is also included at no extra cost.

Yes. House calls are a central part of how Happy Trails Pediatrics operates. Dr. Florence comes to your home within a designated service radius. In-home visits allow her to assess environmental and social factors that affect your child's health. She finds that children are more comfortable and open in their own space, which helps her build a stronger relationship with each patient over time.

Happy Trails Pediatrics does not bill insurance for membership fees or visits. The practice operates on a direct-pay model, which keeps billing simple and transparent. Many families choose to keep a high-deductible health plan or health sharing plan alongside their membership to cover specialist referrals, hospitalizations, or imaging.

New families start by scheduling a meet-and-greet with Dr. Florence. This introductory visit lets you ask questions and discuss your family's specific needs before committing to a membership. Expecting parents can also schedule a prenatal meet-and-greet to learn about the 4th Trimester Package before their baby arrives. Yes. Happy Trails Pediatrics offers a 4th Trimester Package for families from birth through three months. This all-inclusive package covers in-home newborn visits and lactation support. Dr. Florence holds IBCLC certification and provides hands-on breastfeeding guidance. The package ranges from $2,000 to $3,000 as a one-time fee. Yes. Dr. Florence has a strong interest in sports medicine and offers a dedicated Sports Medicine Package for young athletes. The package covers one year of all-inclusive sports medicine care for a one-time fee of $1,200, with no separate enrollment fee required. Services include sports physicals, concussion evaluation and management, injury rehabilitation, and injury prevention counseling. Dr. Florence also collaborates with local school athletic trainers and physical therapists.

Yes. Happy Trails Pediatrics provides mental health screening and treatment for ADHD, anxiety, and depression as part of the standard membership. These visits run 30 to 60 minutes and carry no additional charge. Dr. Florence completed a Mini-Fellowship in Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care through the REACH Institute in 2020. She also maintains a referral network that includes behavioral, psychiatric, and counseling resources for families who need additional support.

Yes. Dr. Florence offers secure virtual visits for members who need care without an in-person appointment. Telemedicine is available as part of the membership alongside house calls and office visits. For sick visits, same-day or next-day care is guaranteed, and a virtual visit may be appropriate depending on the situation.

Yes. The practice runs a Patient Assistance Fund to help local families cover the cost of medical visits, vaccines, mental health support, school and sports forms, and care coordination. Community members can donate directly through the practice website. The fund goes entirely to families in the Leander area. Donations to the fund are not tax deductible.
