A Pittsburgh native and Upper St. Clair graduate, she spent eight years in the biotech industry at Thermo Electron before changing careers and entering medicine as a single parent. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Chatham University in 1999 and her medical degree from Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in 2011.
