Dr. Kirsten Lin grew up in the Pittsburgh area and has spent her entire medical career serving Western Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University before completing her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Her residency in Family Medicine at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital earned her the Best Resident Teacher Award in 2009.

After 12 years practicing within large health systems, Dr. Lin founded Family Matters Direct Primary Care in Hampton Township in October 2017. She co-founded Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh with Dr. Natalie Gentile, and the alliance has since grown to serve all seven Pittsburgh Metropolis counties. Pittsburgh Magazine named her a Top Doctor in both 2021 and 2022. North Allegheny honored her as a Distinguished Alumna in 2020. She also lectures regionally and has appeared on radio programs to educate the public about direct primary care. Dr. Lin currently lives in the North Hills with her family and accepts new patients on a limited basis.
