About

Dr. Eric Skvarla founded Epic Medical in Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh in 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh before completing his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. His postgraduate training included an osteopathic medical internship at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, and a general surgical internship at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Skvarla completed his Family Practice Residency at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. He then pursued a Sports Medicine Fellowship at St. Vincent Health System in Erie. He holds dual board certifications: the American Board of Family Medicine and the Certificate of Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine (CAQSM). He belongs to the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Skvarla is passionate about preventive care and treats the full family spectrum, from newborns to grandparents. Outside the office, he coaches his son in youth sports in the Fox Chapel community, where he lives with his wife Kristine and their two children.
