Dr. Nicole Allen founded Mountain Roots Direct Primary Care in Spruce Pine, NC, bringing board-certified family medicine to the mountain communities of Mitchell and Yancey Counties. S. in Biological Sciences magna cum laude from North Carolina State University, completing minors in Genetics and Health, Medicine, and Human Values. Before medical school, she spent two years as a medical assistant at Cary Dermatology, building early clinical fluency in skin care. She then graduated magna cum laude from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Spartanburg, SC in 2016.
Dr. Allen completed her Family Medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional and joined a practice in Bakersville, NC in 2019. Outside the clinic, she and her husband Gregory raise their two children, Amelia and Henry, tending to their mountain homestead and spending time with family, friends, and their dog Ellie.
