About

At The Perq, Dr. Sarah Sung delivers full-spectrum dermatology from her private Seattle practice. She founded The Perq after a decade at The Polyclinic in Downtown Seattle and the Overlake Clinic in Bellevue. Her guiding philosophy pairs advanced clinical science with what she calls radical hospitality.

The practice runs on a direct-pay model. Dr. Sung works outside insurance networks so she can spend genuine time with each patient. She covers medical dermatology, cosmetic treatments, and body sculpting under one roof. Her clinical range spans acne, skin cancer, hidradenitis suppurativa, rosacea, and psoriasis. On the aesthetic side, she offers injectables, dermal fillers, MultiFrax CO2 laser, IPL, microneedling, PRP, and EmSculpt Neo body contouring. Seattle Magazine, Seattle Met, and Castle Connolly have each named Dr. Sung a Top Doctor in dermatology.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Perq does not accept or process insurance for any services. Patients pay directly at the time of their visit. For patients who qualify for reimbursement through their own insurer, The Perq provides a SuperBill document they can submit themselves. Note that Dr. Sung has withdrawn from Medicare, so Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients cannot seek reimbursement for medical visits. Washington law restricts Medicaid members to cosmetic services only.

New and established patient visits each cost $200. Medical procedure fees vary by type; for example, a shave biopsy on the body starts at $50 for the first lesion and decreases with additional removals. Excisions run $750 for benign lesions and $1,000 for melanoma. The practice publishes a full fee schedule on its pricing page so patients know exactly what to expect before they book.

Yes. The Perq sends labs and pathology to third-party providers, and patients can submit those costs to their insurance for coverage. Only the in-office visit and procedure fees fall outside insurance billing.

Dr. Sung offers a wide range of cosmetic services. Injectable options include Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra. Laser treatments include MultiFrax fractional CO2 and IPL for skin tone and texture. The practice also offers microneedling, PRP therapy, chemical peels, sclerotherapy, Kybella, and EmSculpt Neo body contouring.

EmSculpt Neo uses radiofrequency heating and high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology to reduce fat and build muscle simultaneously. Each session lasts 30 minutes, and a standard course involves four treatments spaced 5 to 10 days apart. The Perq treats patients with a BMI up to 35 with this technology. No surgery, anesthesia, or downtime is required.

The Perq requires 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Patients who need to reschedule on the same day pay a $100 deposit, which applies directly to their visit cost if they arrive on time.

Yes. The Perq maintains a Trusted Physicians Network of independent private practices in the Seattle area. Dr. Sung refers patients to these practices when their specialty fits a clinical need. Current network partners include Boxbar Vascular for vascular surgery and Deeds Health for functional and integrative medicine.

No referral is required. Patients book directly with Dr. Sung without going through a primary care physician or navigating insurance network restrictions. The direct-pay model removes those administrative hurdles entirely.
