Sage Rheumatology offers two membership plans. The 6-month plan totals $1,350 at $225 per month. The 12-month plan totals $2,400 at $200 per month. Longer commitments lower the monthly rate. Patients who have reached remission or need less frequent care can renew into a maintenance plan with reduced visits and lower cost. Before joining, patients pay a non-refundable $150 booking fee to schedule their initial consultation.

Sage Rheumatology does not accept insurance for physician services. Patients pay Dr. Lee directly. In most cases, patients can still use their insurance to cover the costs of medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging. HMO plan members should check their plan's restrictions for non-contracted providers before scheduling.

Yes, Dr. Lee sees Medicare patients, but she does not contract with Medicare. Patients with Medicare pay for Dr. Lee's services out of pocket. Medicare regulations do not allow reimbursement for services from a non-contracted provider. However, Medicare benefits remain fully in effect for labs, imaging, hospital services, and care from contracted physicians.

The process starts with a free 15-minute inquiry call where you can ask questions about the practice, memberships, and what to expect. If Sage Rheumatology seems like a good fit, you submit a $150 non-refundable booking fee to schedule a 60-minute initial consultation. After that visit, a 30-minute follow-up reviews findings and next steps. If appropriate, you then enroll in a membership plan.

Sage Rheumatology does not require a formal insurance referral. However, Dr. Lee recommends that prospective patients first check in with their primary care physician. Many conditions can mimic rheumatic disease, and a baseline evaluation with your PCP helps ensure a rheumatology consultation is the right next step.

Initial consultations run 60 minutes. Ongoing member visits occur approximately every six weeks. Patients self-schedule their appointments through the practice portal, and Dr. Lee keeps her panel small to ensure each visit receives full, unhurried attention.

Yes. Dr. Lee offers both in-person and telemedicine visits for members. Patients access the practice through the Akute Health portal, which supports HIPAA-compliant secure messaging on mobile devices as well.

Dr. Lee designed the membership model to support proactive, long-term care rather than reactive visits driven by prescription refills or acute flares. Rheumatic conditions require sustained management over time, and the membership structure reflects a mutual commitment between Dr. Lee and her patients to work toward that goal together.

Members who need to cancel submit a written termination request by email or letter. Full details appear in the Patient Agreement. Re-enrollment after termination depends on availability at the time of the request and requires a re-enrollment fee.

Yes. Sage Rheumatology members can continue their membership regardless of changes in their insurance status. Because patients pay Dr. Lee directly, insurance coverage does not affect membership eligibility.
