About
At Redwood Primary Care, Dr. Kathryn McClellan delivers evidence-based direct primary care to adults in Asheville and Buncombe County. She returned to her hometown in 2021 after nearly 15 years practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area. She built Redwood Primary Care around a core belief: primary care should be rooted in science and tailored to each individual. Dr. McClellan keeps her patient panel intentionally small. Appointments run 30 to 60 minutes, and members reach her directly by text, phone, or email between visits. The practice covers preventive care, chronic disease management, urgent care, menopause and perimenopause care, women's and men's health, weight management, mental health support, and minor procedures. Members pay a flat $140 monthly fee with no copays or visit-based charges. As of January 1, 2026, HSA funds cover DPC membership fees up to $150 per month for individuals.
