Individual membership at Lantern Health costs $110 per month. Spouses and partners pay $100 per month. One child aged 0 to 17 costs $75 per month, and two or more children cost $150 per month. A prenatal plan runs $160 per month for one year plus an $800 delivery fee. These rates apply to both individuals and employer-sponsored members.

No. Lantern Health operates on a direct membership model with no insurance required. Members pay a flat monthly fee and access the full range of primary care services included in their membership.

Lantern Health does not bill insurance for membership services. However, members can use insurance, medical cost sharing plans, or health sharing memberships alongside their Lantern membership for services outside the practice, such as specialist visits or hospitalizations. Lantern Health also partners with insurance advisors and TPAs for employer groups.

Appointments run 30 to 60 minutes with minimal to no wait time. Members can schedule same-day and next-day appointments, and the practice offers in-person, phone, and video visits. Members book through the Spruce app or by calling their location directly.

Yes. Members access phone and video visits through the Spruce app. The practice also offers 24/7 physician access by phone for urgent issues outside regular office hours.

Membership covers unlimited visits with any team member, annual wellness assessments, chronic disease management, acute and sick visits, health coaching, point-of-care lab testing, in-office procedures, and virtual specialist e-consultations through Thea Health. Members also access wholesale pricing on prescriptions through Sona Pharmacy, lab work through LabCorp and Quest, and imaging referrals.

Yes. Lantern Health offers a prenatal plan at the Downtown location. Physicians with delivery privileges at Mission Hospital provide obstetric care, C-sections, and newborn care. Dr. Heidi Knoll covers deliveries for the Downtown location and Dr. Paulette Doiron covers deliveries for the South location.

Yes. Lantern Health serves patients of all ages, from newborns through adults. Family membership pricing covers children aged 0 to 17, and the physicians provide full pediatric and newborn care.

Yes. Lantern Health requires a 6-month initial commitment. After that, members may cancel with 30 days notice. Members who cancel and re-enroll within 18 months pay a $400 re-initiation fee.

Both Asheville locations are currently waitlist only. Prospective patients can join the waitlist through the Lantern Health website. The practice is actively recruiting an additional physician for the South Asheville location.
