At Athena Direct Primary Care & Lifestyle Medicine in Pittsford, NY, two physicians deliver evidence-based, prevention-focused primary care. Dr. Laura Petrescu founded the practice in January 2022. It holds the distinction of being the first Direct Primary Care practice in the Rochester metropolitan area. Dr. Carlton Covey, a retired Air Force Colonel with 24 years of military medicine experience, joins the team in Fall 2026.
The practice weaves Lifestyle Medicine into every visit, addressing nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and chronic disease prevention. Members receive 60-minute appointments, same-day access, and direct physician communication by secure text, email, or phone. Annual InBody body composition analysis, comprehensive biomarker testing, and multi-cancer early detection options round out the clinical offering. Telemedicine keeps care accessible for patients who travel, and home visits are available for established members who need them.
