S. Naval Academy after high school. He had planned to fly jets, but a period of serious illness and extended hospitalization redirected his path entirely. That experience drew him toward medicine, and he went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2000.
He returned to active duty as a Navy Medical Officer and completed internships in both Family Practice and Surgery, one year of Orthopedic Residency training, and a Family Practice Residency at Naval Hospital Bremerton. S. Marines overseas, and served as Senior Medical Officer to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. He deployed twice to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom, retiring from Naval Hospital Oak Harbor in 2016 after 28 years of service. He holds board certification in Family Practice and has deep clinical interests in Lyme disease, tick-borne illness, and skin cancer. Outside the clinic, he enjoys hiking, archery hunting, fishing, running, and cycling with his family in the Trout Lake Valley.
