Dr. Lillian West is a Little Rock native and the founder of Bear Fruit Direct Primary Care. Her interest in medicine began in childhood, sparked by her grandfather's hospitalization. As a teenager, she attended local summer programs that deepened that calling.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She then attended Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with High Honors after receiving the prestigious Eliza Anna Grier Scholarship. Her Internal Medicine residency took place at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. After residency, she joined Norman Regional Health Systems as a hospitalist and later practiced outpatient General Internal Medicine in Norman, Oklahoma. Dr. West holds board certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and board certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is also a member of the American College of Physicians and holds medical licenses in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Her clinical focus includes chronic disease management, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and disease prevention. She is passionate about treating the whole patient, addressing diet, exercise, lifestyle, and mental wellness alongside physical health. Outside the clinic, Dr. West enjoys travel and community events focused on education and literacy. She and her husband Johnathan have three sons: Joshua, Jeremiah, and Joel.
