Dr. Karl Saxman grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where his father worked as a physicist. That early environment shaped a deep love of science. He pursued that passion toward medicine rather than research, drawn by direct patient connection.
S. from Stanford University in 1988, majoring in Molecular Biology and European History. He then completed his MD at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1993. During medical school, he took an extra year for international and specialty rotations.
