About

Dr. David Nguyen is a board-certified family medicine physician with 18 years of clinical experience. He grew up in Florida, born to a family that immigrated from Vietnam after the war. He graduated co-valedictorian of his high school class before heading to Duke University, where he studied biology and psychology. Medical school at the University of Florida confirmed his passion for primary care.

He completed his family medicine residency in Asheville, North Carolina, earning the Chief Resident role in his final year. During training, he joined medical mission trips to Ecuador, India, and Honduras. After residency, he gained experience in urgent care, occupational health, and bariatric medicine before settling into a family practice role in Eugene for nearly a decade. He volunteers at WhiteBird medical clinic and Volunteers in Medicine, and he has served on the Board of Trustees for the Lane County Medical Society. Dr. Nguyen believes strongly in shared decision-making and patient education. One of his favorite clinical moments is helping a patient come off a medication after meeting their health goals. Outside of medicine, he spends time with his wife and two boys, hikes, photographs nature, and tends to more than 100 hazelnut trees on the family property.
