About

Dr. John Turner is a board-certified family physician born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. He attended Florida State University for both his undergraduate and medical education, graduating from the FSU College of Medicine. He then completed his Family Medicine residency at the TMH Family Medicine Residency, training across the Big Bend region in Tallahassee, Madison, Crawfordville, Quincy, and Marianna. He spent over six years in private practice in Tallahassee before founding Big Bend Family Medicine in January 2025.

Dr. Turner's clinical interests span every stage of life, from newborn care through geriatrics. He sees medicine as a calling and measures success by the relationships he builds with patients over time. Beyond his clinical work, he holds a deep passion for international medicine. He has completed medical mission trips to eastern Africa in 2017, Nicaragua in 2018, and Ukraine in 2022. He takes a balanced, individualized approach to vaccination, supporting immunizations broadly while tailoring guidance to each patient. Outside of medicine, he paints, writes, and follows Florida State athletics with great enthusiasm. He and his wife Rachel are raising four children and remain very active in their church community.
