Dr. Beau Gedrick grew up in Clinton, IN, and attended Butler University on a biology track. He played college football before a neck injury ended his playing career; he also served as a lifter for the cheer team. After graduating in 2000, he spent a year at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals before enrolling at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During medical school, he earned acceptance into a one-year fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulation.
He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Detroit, MI, where he also trained alongside physicians for the Detroit Red Wings. He then finished a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at NSU-COM. He holds board certification in both Emergency Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine, and certification in Osteopathic Manipulation. He stands as the only physician in the region carrying all three of those credentials. He joined the Medical College of Georgia in 2016 as an associate professor and later served as team physician for the Augusta GreenJackets, Augusta University Jaguars, and multiple area high schools. He co-founded Flex Health in 2023 and launched the Flex Sports Foundation that same year to serve underserved athletes across the CSRA.
