Standard membership for Drs. Nayo and Hampe runs $95 per month or $1,025 per year for adults ages 19 to 64. A child membership costs $50 per month. A family plan covering two adults and two children runs $261 per month. Dr. Annis carries a different price level; contact the practice directly for her current rates. If paying monthly, Unorthodoc requires a three-month retainer upfront.

Membership covers primary care visits with no extra copays or fees, same-day and next-day acute care, an annual comprehensive health assessment with screening labs, telemedicine and phone visits, and two-way secure messaging through a HIPAA-compliant platform. Vaccinations, some labs, and certain procedures carry separate charges at negotiated low cash prices.

Unorthodoc does not bill insurance for primary care visits. Membership fees go directly to your doctor. You can still use insurance for things like specialist referrals, hospitalizations, or vaccinations covered under your plan. The practice works best when paired with a high-deductible health plan or similar coverage for major medical needs.

Unorthodoc uses Spruce, a HIPAA-compliant platform that supports secure texting, phone calls, video visits, and file sharing. Members can send messages, photos, and documents directly to their care team. For truly urgent issues, the doctor remains reachable by pager, with no answering service standing between patients and their physician.

Yes. The practice offers phone and video visits through its HIPAA-compliant Spruce platform. When a concern does not require an in-person visit, the team connects virtually. Membership covers these interactions without additional per-visit fees.

Unorthodoc operates two locations. The original Carrboro clinic at 127-A Fidelity Street has offered full-spectrum primary care since 2015, including adult and child vaccines and in-office procedures. The Durham location at 2609 N. Duke Street, Suite 101, opened in April 2024 and provides full-spectrum primary care; an independent pharmacy next door handles vaccines.

Yes. Unorthodoc offers a DPC employer plan at $95 per employee per month. This gives each employee access to a personal physician with no additional copays or deductibles for primary care. The practice recommends pairing the plan with a high-deductible health insurance policy for comprehensive coverage.

Submit an interest form on the Unorthodoc website. You can note a physician preference and location preference in the form. The team will follow up with current availability. Dr. Annis has no waitlist; Dr. Nayo has an active waitlist; Dr. Hampe currently accepts new patients.

Yes. The practice serves patients from birth through adulthood. Dr. Annis holds board certification in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and sees children and adults. Drs. Nayo and Hampe are board-certified Family Medicine physicians and also care for patients across age groups.

Yes. Dr. Nayo performs medical ear piercing using the Blomdahl Medical Ear Piercing system, a sterile, single-use, hypoallergenic tool available only to medical professionals. The service costs $99, including studs and after-care cleaning wipes, and is open to non-patients as well.
