Thrive Internal Medicine

Thrive charges an annual membership fee that covers all medical services the practice provides. At the start of your membership, you also pay a one-time registration fee, which does not repeat in subsequent years. After that, no copays or additional charges apply to office visits, virtual visits, sick visits, or any other communication with your doctor. Lab work, vaccines, specialist visits, and hospitalizations bill separately to your insurance.

Your membership covers unlimited in-person office visits, virtual visits, sick visits, follow-up visits, and chronic condition management. It also includes your annual comprehensive physical, women's health care such as breast exams and pap smears, point-of-care testing with rapid results, ECGs, nebulizer treatments, body composition analysis on the InBody 970, coordination of care with specialists, and after-hours emergency phone access. The practice provides all care exclusively through its physicians, with no nurse practitioners or physician assistants involved.

Thrive does not accept insurance for the services its physicians provide directly. Your annual membership fee covers all practice-based care. The practice does bill insurance separately for lab work, vaccines, diagnostic testing, specialist visits, ER visits, and hospitalizations, so carrying insurance remains important for those services.

Yes. Thrive typically offers same-day or next-day appointments. Each physician keeps a limited panel, which makes this kind of timely access possible. Patients can request appointments through Spruce, the practice's secure HIPAA-compliant messaging platform.

Yes. Thrive offers virtual visits through Spruce, a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. Patients use the same app for secure messaging, appointment requests, and clinical questions between visits. Your physician determines when a virtual visit is appropriate for your specific concern.

Thrive accepts patients aged 18 and older. The practice welcomes adults regardless of prior conditions or medical history, so you do not need to meet any health criteria to join.

Yes. All four physicians at Thrive hold board certification in Internal Medicine. The practice does not employ nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Every patient receives care directly from a board-certified physician.

When your Thrive physician refers you to a specialist, that specialist bills you or your insurance separately. The practice actively coordinates care with specialists and communicates directly with hospital teams when needed. Through Epic's CARE EVERYWHERE portal, your records connect to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, NorthShore University Health System, Rush, Loyola, Advocate/Lutheran General, and other major health systems.

Thrive does not make house calls. The practice sees patients at its Northbrook office at 400 Skokie Boulevard, Suite 405, and offers virtual visits through Spruce for situations where in-person care is not required. Free parking, including dedicated spaces near the entrance, is available at the office.

Thrive uses Spruce as its primary communication platform. Through Spruce, you can send secure messages to your physician and medical assistants, request appointments, and conduct virtual visits. For access to clinical notes and test results, the practice uses MyChart through Northwestern Medicine's Epic system.
