Personal Physicians

Personal Physicians charges an annual fee that covers all doctor visits, whether in the office or at the hospital. The practice does not bill insurance for these visits. Patients keep their existing insurance to cover ancillary services such as lab work, imaging, specialist consultations, and hospitalizations.

The practice operates out of network for all private insurance and does not participate in Medicare. Patients pay the annual membership fee directly for all physician visits. When the practice refers patients to specialists or for testing, those providers bill the patient's insurance directly.

Personal Physicians does not participate in Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans. The practice recommends that Medicare-eligible patients maintain traditional Medicare coverage for ancillary services, specialist visits, and hospitalizations. The practice's annual fee covers all direct physician services.

All four physicians hold staff privileges at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West, and Missouri Baptist Hospitals. When a patient requires hospitalization, their physician coordinates care and visits them in the hospital.

During business hours, patients contact the practice by phone or through the MyChart Patient Portal, which the physicians prefer for secure communication. For urgent concerns outside of business hours, physicians make their cell phones available to patients.

Each physician cares for their own patients Monday through Friday during business hours. One physician rotates on call from Friday evening through Monday morning to cover urgent issues for any patient in the practice. The physicians describe their styles and approaches as similar, which helps make coverage transitions smooth.

Yes. The practice offers house calls for patients who need care at home. Physicians also communicate with patients through the HIPAA-compliant MyChart portal for non-urgent clinical matters.

Yes. Personal Physicians operates a fully open on-site lab. The practice also offers drive-through PCR COVID testing. For testing that insurance covers, the practice refers patients to in-network providers who bill insurance directly.

Dr. Jacqueline Fairchild is currently the only physician at Personal Physicians accepting new patients. Prospective patients can submit a new patient interest form on the practice's website. The practice notes it may take 7 to 10 days to follow up given the volume of interest.

The practice actively screens patients for colon, cervical, breast, prostate, skin, and lung cancers. Physicians individualize screening recommendations based on each patient's risk factors and health history. The practice also offers GLP-1 medication management, vaccine clinics at its Ladue location, and publishes a monthly health newsletter covering preventive care topics.
