Family First Direct Primary Care

The standard DPC membership costs $99 per month, billed by autopay. Louisiana residents between ages 17 and 26 qualify for a College Student membership at $75 per month. All new members also pay a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100 per person, with a maximum of $250 for families.

New patients start with a free meet-and-greet appointment at the office. During this visit, you meet Dr. McGann, learn about the DPC model, and confirm that the practice can meet your primary care needs. The practice does not address medical problems at this initial visit. After that, signing up for membership is straightforward. Note that the standard DPC membership is currently on a waitlist in 2025, so call the office for current availability.

No. Family First Direct Primary Care does not contract with any insurance companies, including Medicare or Medicaid. This is a pure DPC practice. The monthly membership fee covers your primary care directly, with no copays, deductibles, or insurance billing. The practice is not a Louisiana Medicaid facility.

The membership covers all office visits you and Dr. McGann decide you need, with no additional fees. It also includes all in-office procedures Dr. McGann performs, such as stitches, casts, splints, joint injections, trigger point injections, mole and skin tag removal, freeze therapy, EKGs, and breathing treatments. Members also get direct access to Dr. McGann by text, phone, email, and video, plus after-hours access on evenings and weekends.

Yes. Family First Direct Primary Care offers lab work and X-ray imaging at wholesale prices with full price transparency. Common blood tests start as low as $9 for a CBC or TSH. X-ray imaging runs $15 to $40 per view depending on the body part. Dr. McGann publishes these prices upfront so members know what to expect before any test.

Yes. Dr. McGann offers video visits directly to members when appropriate. Members can also reach him by text, phone, or email, making remote communication a built-in part of membership.

Yes. Many members keep a high-deductible health insurance plan for hospitalizations, specialist care, or emergencies, and use their Family First DPC membership for all primary care needs.
