About
At Empowered Endings Medical Group, Dr. Bob Uslander and co-founder Elizabeth Uslander deliver palliative, end-of-life, and grief care throughout San Diego, Palm Springs, and Los Angeles. Dr. Bob brings more than 30 years of medical experience to this work, including over two decades in Emergency Medicine. Elizabeth refined her expertise in spiritual care and medical social work over decades of supporting people through life's major transitions. Together, they built a practice around a clear belief: every person deserves to feel heard, held, and whole throughout their journey.
The practice centers on a Doctor and Doula Model of Care that addresses physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs together. Empowered Endings has specialized in Medical Aid in Dying since California legalized it in 2016, and also supports patients through Voluntary Stopping Eating and Drinking. The care team offers in-home palliative, dementia, geriatric, and end-of-life care, alongside advance directive planning, death doula services, grief counseling, and bereavement support. Life-enhancing therapies including massage, acupuncture, music therapy, and Reiki round out the clinical offerings. The practice operates on a private pay basis and makes 24/7 availability a standard part of care. A related nonprofit, the Empowered Endings Foundation, extends community education and financial assistance to the broader public.
