Members pay a single annual fee that covers all of Dr. Downing's physician services. Labs, procedures, hospital costs, and specialty care fall under private insurance or Medicare. Joining the practice does not affect the coverage of any existing insurance plan.

Dr. Downing has opted out of Medicare, so he does not bill Medicare for his own services. The annual membership fee covers his care directly. He remains a Medicare ordering and referring physician, so Medicare and secondary insurance still cover labs, procedures, hospital care, and specialist referrals.

Yes. When a home visit is clinically appropriate, Dr. Downing comes to you. Home visits are included in the annual membership fee at no extra cost.

If you require admission to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Dr. Downing serves as your attending physician. His office is close to the hospital, so he often visits admitted members two to three times per day. All hospital visits are included in the annual fee.

Yes. As a courtesy to members, Dr. Downing treats out-of-town guests who become ill during their visit. This benefit is included in the membership with no additional charge.

Dr. Downing conducts a comprehensive two-hour annual physical exam tailored to each patient's personal health needs. The exam goes well beyond a standard checkup and gives Dr. Downing time to review health history, order appropriate screenings, and discuss preventive care in depth.
