Awesome Possum Pediatrics

Membership starts at $120 per month for one child. Families with multiple children receive a discount: two children cost $200 per month, three children cost $255 per month, and four children cost $300 per month. The practice currently waives the initial enrollment fee for new patients. The monthly fee covers all preventive visits, chronic condition management, and same or next-day acute care with no co-pays or deductibles.

Yes. Awesome Possum Pediatrics strongly recommends that all member families maintain health insurance. The practice covers most outpatient pediatric care, but insurance remains important for emergency department visits, hospitalizations, specialist care, and surgeries. Some families choose a higher-deductible plan with lower monthly premiums once clinic care is covered through membership.

Call the practice directly. Dr. Kinkel responds the same day, not in two to three business days. Families reach her personally when they call; there is no triage nurse or phone menu. The practice holds same and next-day appointments, including on weekends, and Dr. Kinkel takes calls even in the middle of the night for urgent concerns.

The practice sees patients from birth through age 17. Dr. Kinkel starts seeing newborns as soon as they arrive home. She also offers free prenatal meet-and-greet visits for expectant parents before their baby is born.

Yes. Families can reach Dr. Kinkel by phone, text, email, or virtual visit. She and the family decide together which format fits each situation best. Some questions resolve quickly over the phone; others benefit from a face-to-face office or video visit.

No. Awesome Possum Pediatrics does not require families to enroll all children at the same time. Each family's situation differs, and the practice accommodates that flexibility. Enrolling siblings together does come with a meaningful cost discount, and having all children's care in one place simplifies things when more than one child gets sick.

The first visit establishes care. Dr. Kinkel reviews your child's medical history, medications, allergies, and prior health issues. She also wants to learn about the family: household members, school or daycare, and your child's personality and goals. For families with young children or multiple kids joining at once, the practice schedules an initial visit with just the parent or caregiver to keep things practical. Dr. Kinkel avoids prescribing new medications at this first visit so she can review all records before making recommendations.

Awesome Possum Pediatrics schedules longer, unhurried appointments at a manageable pace. Most visits have no wait time at all. Families do not need to arrive early to fill out forms or check in with a medical assistant. Time in the office goes directly to the patient visit.

Awesome Possum Pediatrics does not currently see patients with OHP or Medicaid. The practice hopes to make this an option in the future and welcomes interested families to reach out about joining a wait list.
