Dr. Troy W. Bishop is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He grew up in Ohio and has lived there his entire life. He earned his undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University, then went on to complete his medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in 1994. He finished his residency in internal medicine at Summa Health System in Akron, after which he served as a physician in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Dr. Bishop joined Summa Health System as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency, a role he held from 1999 to 2017. During that time, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Physicians awarded him the distinction of Master Teacher. After nearly two decades training resident physicians, he chose to redirect his focus toward direct patient care.
