She completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke's Hospital and Truman Medical Center in Kansas City and holds board certification in internal medicine.

After working in private practice in Kansas City, Dr. Velloff moved to Columbia in 1998. Her career has spanned private practice, student health, urgent care, and academic medicine.
