He served as Medical Editor of the Mayo Clinic Health Letter, Clinical Practice Chair for Family Medicine, and Associate Professor and Family Medicine Clerkship Director for ten years. He also chaired the Neuro-Psychiatric Medicine Task Force, overseeing more than one billion dollars in specialty medication purchasing.

Dr. Sheeler is a Certified Teacher of Evidence-Based Taiji-Qigong, trained under renowned grand masters. He is also a Certified Teacher of Inner Relationship Focusing and a Reiki Master. He holds advanced training in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Hypnosis, and Healing Touch, and integrates these methods alongside traditional and functional medicine.
