About
Dr. Jimmy Hawkes brings an unusually international perspective to primary care. Born in Puerto Rico, he grew up moving through Honduras, Washington DC, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil with his family through the US State Department. That upbringing gave him fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2004 before earning his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed clinical training in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2009.

He added board certification in Obesity Medicine in 2016. He spent 2012 to 2017 working with large hospital groups across Utah, Idaho, and Nevada before launching his first DPC clinic in Henderson, Nevada in 2016. He treats a wide range of adult conditions including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, arthritis, infections, and mental health disorders. He believes physicians should lead as entrepreneurs and take responsibility for protecting both their patients' health and their finances.
