Dr. Catherine LokD.O.

Family Medicine

at RiverRock Clinic — Asheville, NC

About

Dr. Lok graduated from theUniversity in Missouri, one of the country's leading osteopathic medical schools. She completed three years of family medicine residency in the pine barrens of Maine. During those years she cared for over a thousand hospitalized patients through COVID and served as primary care physician for hundreds more in clinic. She then moved to Asheville in December 2023 and opened RiverRock Clinic, turning down several high-paying positions at the end of her residency to build something different.

Dr. Lok grew up in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, a small farming town where her mother practiced chiropractic medicine. As a child she accompanied her mother on visits to the local Amish community, an early encounter with the healing power of a trusted doctor-patient relationship. That foundation shaped her integrative approach, which draws on conventional medicine alongside osteopathic manual therapy, pranic healing, cranial-sacral therapy, herbs, supplements, and food as medicine. She has particular clinical interests in liver cirrhosis, LGBTQ+-affirming care, skin conditions, women's health, and end-of-life and palliative care. She serves patients from newborns to older adults and performed OMT on wheelchair users, pregnant patients, and infants. In 2025 she served as a panelist at a North Carolina physician conference hosted by Emerald Health DPC for female physicians launching DPC practices. She also attended the NCAFP annual conference at The Omni Grove Park Inn and Spa, completing over 20 CME hours.
