About
Dr. Brian Lewis co-founded Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville and serves as its CEO. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he earned multiple undergraduate concentrations at UNC-Chapel Hill, studying biology, chemistry, psychology, anthropology, and religious studies. A science scholarship took him abroad to England during his sophomore year. He trained at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and also holds a Master of Public Health.
Before medical school, Dr. Lewis deferred his acceptance twice: first to teach for AmeriCorps and then to apprentice in two residential programs focused on meditation, yoga, and integrative medicine. At UNC-CH, he co-founded the Integrative Medicine student group, organizing seminars, retreats, and regional events for students drawn to holistic living. Between his third and fourth years of medical school, he received a grant to study healing methodologies from the Himalayas. His clinical focus spans family medicine, preventive medicine, and integrative health. He practices from the River Arts District location.
