Dr. Ben Covington brings over 20 years of medical experience to his patients at Covington Family Health in Southlake, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio in 2001. He then completed his Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech Institute for Family Medicine at Amarillo in 2004. After residency, Dr. Covington moved his family to Dumas, TX, where he opened a small-town family practice, a goal he had carried since early in his career.
When his children grew up and relocated, he and his wife Lori moved to the DFW area. He spent several years in Emergency Medicine before returning to family medicine and opening Covington Family Health. Beyond clinical work, Dr. Covington has done medical mission work in northern Belize and in a small village in Tanzania. In 2015, he and Lori founded African Christian Ministries, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting the people of East Africa.
