Sourwood Pediatrics

Membership fees at Sourwood Pediatrics start at $80 per month for children age 5 and up. Fees are $100 per month for ages 1 to 4, and $120 per month for infants in their first year. The Complex and Special Healthcare Needs Plan starts at $200 per month for the first three months and then reassesses based on the child's needs. Families pay a maximum of $250 per month regardless of how many children enroll. There is no enrollment fee, and financial assistance may be available.

Membership covers well visits, sick visits, quarterly chronic condition and disease management, basic in-office point-of-care lab work, immunization ordering and administration, home visits, telehealth visits, and unlimited phone, text, email, and video-chat communications with Dr. Groves. School, sports, and camp physicals are also included.

Sourwood Pediatrics does not participate in any traditional health insurance networks and does not submit bills to insurance for membership services. However, members can use HSA funds to cover membership fees. For immunizations, Dr. Groves orders vaccines through a local pharmacy or Vaxcare supplier, which then bills your health insurance directly before she administers them.

Yes. Dr. Groves offers same-day appointments for members and responds to texts and calls quickly. She is available by phone and text until 8 pm on weekdays and weekends. For non-urgent after-hours messages, she responds the following morning.

Families can schedule a meet-and-greet chat with Dr. Groves to learn about the practice before enrolling. Membership registration begins with a membership agreement, and billing starts upon enrollment, which occurs before the first medical visit. A payment method eligible for auto-draft is required.

Yes. Sourwood Pediatrics offers both telehealth visits and home visits. Dr. Groves conducts home visits and virtual visits Monday through Friday mornings. Clinic visits take place Monday through Thursday afternoons. Home visits outside the Black Mountain and Swannanoa area are subject to approval based on travel time.

Yes. Non-members can request a sick visit at $120 per child per visit. Dr. Groves treats conditions including ear infections, strep throat, flu, COVID-19, RSV, rashes, and gastrointestinal illness. Non-members can also request a single visit consult at a flat fee of $120 per hour, subject to Dr. Groves' approval.

Yes. Sourwood Pediatrics provides a Summer Camper Care program for campers in and around the Black Mountain area at $120 per month. Dr. Groves works alongside camp nursing staff to manage chronic conditions, medications, and unexpected illnesses or injuries while children are away from home.

Sourwood Pediatrics follows routine childhood immunization recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization. Dr. Groves orders vaccines from a local pharmacy or Vaxcare supplier, which bills your health insurance for the vaccines. She then administers them at the practice. If your insurance does not cover vaccines, she recommends using your local health department and provides the vaccine schedule and guidance.

Sourwood Pediatrics limits its panel to under 400 patients per pediatrician. That limit allows Dr. Groves to offer longer appointments, same-day access, and direct communication with every family she serves.
