About

At Premier Health Partners of Santa Monica, two board-certified internists bring over two decades of experience each to a deliberately small practice. Dr. Peter C. Galier and Dr. Malena Law both served on faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA before launching the practice together in 2015. Their shared conviction: quality care requires genuine access to your physician and enough time to think carefully about your health.

The practice keeps its panel to a fraction of a typical physician's caseload. That structure allows both doctors to offer same-day appointments, after-hours access on weekdays and every other weekend, and direct email contact with your own physician. Services span annual preventive exams, acute and chronic disease management, on-site blood draws, ECG, spirometry, body fat analysis, vision and hearing screenings, and routine and travel vaccines. The practice coordinates specialty referrals with in-network providers and operates on a fee-for-service basis. Patients with PPO plans may submit claims for reimbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Premier Health Partners of Santa Monica requires all patients to pay an annual administrative fee. For non-Medicare patients, the practice collects half the fee at your initial visit or annual physical. You may pay the remaining balance monthly by credit card or in full at the time of your yearly exam. Medicare patients pay the full annual fee at the first visit and each year after that.

The annual fee covers your comprehensive physical and all follow-up office visits during the year. It does not cover labs, procedures, or vaccines. The fee also includes direct email access to your physician, same-day prescription refills, review of results or records from other providers, forms completion for items like DMV or jury duty, and insurance authorization support.

Both Dr. Galier and Dr. Law operate out of network for all commercial insurance plans. For former established patients with Medicare, both doctors participate as Medicare providers. Patients with PPO plans may submit a superbill directly to their insurer for potential reimbursement. Each patient should confirm reimbursement rates and deductible applicability with their own carrier.

Yes. Because the practice maintains a limited panel with only two physicians, patients have after-hours phone access to their own doctor on weekdays and every other weekend. Availability varies during holidays and vacation periods. The practice also provides 24/7 access to medical support.

Yes, Premier Health Partners of Santa Monica accommodates urgent appointments the same day on weekdays, based on availability. The deliberately small practice size makes this level of access possible for all patients.

The practice provides annual preventive exams, management of acute and chronic health conditions, and specialty care coordination with in-network providers. On-site services include blood draws sent to in-network laboratories, ECG, spirometry, body fat analysis, vision screening, hearing screening, TB screening, and routine and travel vaccines.

The practice sends blood draws to in-network laboratories such as LabCorp and Quest. For specialist referrals and imaging, the team directs patients to in-network providers and keeps your insurance network information on file. The practice does not admit patients to the hospital directly but coordinates daily with attending physicians and uses a group of board-certified hospitalists covered by your insurance.

A superbill is an itemized document listing the services from your visit. The practice provides this document to you along with a claim form for your insurance company. You submit the superbill directly to your insurer and receive any approved reimbursement yourself. Check your insurer's website to download a claim form before your visit.

Most insurance plans do not allow patients to apply the annual administrative fee toward their deductible. Some plans may count out-of-network costs toward the deductible. The practice recommends confirming this directly with your insurance carrier before your first visit.
