She trained at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia University Medical Center. She then spent nine years at Columbia teaching medical students and residents while practicing as an internist. She later added a Master of Public Health from The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice in 2021.
