No. Life & Family Medical does not accept any form of insurance, including Medicare billing. You pay a monthly membership fee directly to the practice. Medicare members can still use their Medicare benefits to cover specialists, labs, imaging, and medications outside the practice.

Yes. Life & Family Medical welcomes patients of all ages, from newborns through Medicare-eligible adults. Dr. Schroeder is a family medicine physician with training to care for every stage of life. Families pay a one-time sign-up fee of $75, and each additional child beyond the first two receives a $10 discount on the monthly rate.

Members contact Dr. Schroeder directly by phone, email, or text for urgent concerns outside of office hours. This after-hours access is included in the membership. The practice also offers telemedicine visits when appropriate.

Membership covers comprehensive annual physicals, well-child visits, sports and camp physicals, chronic disease management, acute care visits, minor suturing, simple lesion removal or biopsy, in-office labs such as rapid strep and urine dip, ear wax irrigation, and telemedicine visits. Members also receive discounted labs and prescription medications and benefit from specialist referral and pre- and post-hospital care coordination.

Yes. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Life & Family Medical offers scholarship memberships for individuals facing temporary financial hardship or transitional circumstances. The practice directs particular outreach toward immigrant and refugee populations in the Quad Cities. Community members can also sponsor a membership for someone else through the practice's giving program.

Yes. Life & Family Medical handles many chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression. Dr. Schroeder does not charge more for complex cases.
