Higher Self Health offers annual subscription memberships. Each membership includes a comprehensive annual assessment, coaching on a personalized wellness plan, and direct access to Dr. Valette for urgent medical needs. Members commit to an initial six-month period before cancellation becomes available. The practice does not bill insurance for doctor visits.

The practice does not bill insurance for doctor visits. However, Dr. Valette orders labs, X-rays, and other testing through your insurance. Members may also use HSA or HRA funds to cover membership fees.

Higher Self Health does not participate in Medicare. Adult patients 18 and older who are not relying on Medicare as their primary coverage are welcome to join.

Yes. Dr. Valette sees patients both in person at the Pacific Heights office on Van Ness Avenue and virtually. Members access their care and communicate with the practice through a dedicated mobile app.

Dr. Valette offers a range of early-detection and diagnostic options. These include comprehensive blood labs, the Galleri multi-cancer test, Cleerly CT Coronary Angiography and Coronary Calcium Scanning, and Whole Body MRI. He guides each member through personalized testing recommendations based on their health history and risk factors. Advanced tests carry a la carte pricing.

Dr. Valette manages a broad range of conditions including cardiovascular disease, metabolic health, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, cognitive health, digestive issues, skin concerns, ADD/ADHD, allergies, anxiety, depression, and sports injuries. He also provides LGBTQ+ affirming care and hormone replacement therapy.

Yes. Sports medicine is a core part of the practice. Dr. Valette holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and completed his fellowship at OHSU. The office has an ultrasound on site for sports medicine diagnosis and procedures, and he builds recovery plans tailored to each patient's activity level and goals.
