Contact the practice directly for current subscription rates.

HealthspanSF does not accept insurance for its program fees. After each visit, the practice provides a superbill that PPO insurance holders can submit to their insurer. Labs, imaging, and other testing ordered through the program fall outside the practice fee; insurance typically covers those services as it does currently. Patients can ask their insurer what reimbursement to expect for an out-of-network 99215 internal medicine visit.

The virtual Healthspan program currently serves patients located in California or New York at the time of each visit. Dr. Sanger is considering expanding to Washington, Texas, and Florida. Patients in other states can fill out the contact form to request that their state be added.

The initial Healthspan visit runs 90 minutes. Subsequent visits range from 30 to 60 minutes each. The program includes 6 to 8 visits over the first year. Each visit focuses on one or two of the core healthspan topics, prioritized based on the patient's goals and needs established at the first appointment.

Dr. Sanger tailors testing to each patient's needs and budget. The program can include advanced lipoprotein panels, continuous glucose monitoring, DEXA body composition scans, VO2max testing, coronary CT angiography with Cleerly AI plaque analysis, whole genome sequencing, EEG-based at-home sleep studies, and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring patches. Most standard lab testing goes through insurance. Out-of-pocket costs for additional tests vary; for example, DEXA scans run about $60 and coronary calcium scans can be as low as $100.
