About
At Comprehensive Center for Women's Medicine, Dr. Vesna Skul and Dr. Danuta Hoyer bring decades of academic and clinical experience to a holistic, integrative practice in Chicago's Gold Coast. The two physicians met in medical school and have practiced together ever since. They opened the practice in 2001 after years on the faculty at Rush University Medical Center. Both hold board certification in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Both also serve as Associate Professors of Medicine at Rush Medical College.
The practice draws patients from adolescence through older adulthood, spanning multiple generations of the same families. Male patients join the practice regularly, often referred by female family members or partners. The clinical scope runs wide: menopause management, bioidentical hormone therapy, autoimmune disease, fatigue evaluation, medical weight loss, functional medicine, and non-invasive pain management, among others. The practice uses advanced diagnostics including genetic and nutrigenomic testing, intracellular micronutrient assessment, salivary hormone testing, and NMR lipoprotein analysis. Chicago Magazine has repeatedly named both physicians among the best doctors for women in Chicago. The practice operates outside all insurance networks, including Medicare, and offers telemedicine alongside in-person visits.

Yes. Comprehensive Center for Women's Medicine offers telemedicine appointments. Some complex or abnormal test results do require a follow-up visit, either in person or via telemedicine, and the charge for those appointments reflects the time needed to review findings and build a treatment plan.
The office is open Monday through Thursday, with hours varying by day. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tuesday hours extend to 6:00 pm. Friday and Saturday appointments are available by special arrangement.
Both physicians make themselves available by phone after hours, seven days a week. Patients can reach Dr. Skul or Dr. Hoyer directly for urgent questions outside of regular office hours.
The practice uses an advanced set of diagnostic tools beyond standard lab work. These include genetic and nutrigenomic testing, salivary hormone testing through ZRT Laboratory, intracellular vitamin and micronutrient assessment through SpectraCell, toxic load evaluation through Great Plains Laboratory, NMR lipoprotein testing, and comprehensive hormonal panels. These tools help the physicians identify root causes rather than simply addressing symptoms.
Yes. While the clinical focus centers on women's health, the practice welcomes male patients. Many male patients join after a referral from a mother, sister, or partner who is already a patient.
The practice sees patients from adolescence through older adulthood. Many patient families span multiple generations, with grandmothers, mothers, and daughters all receiving care at the same practice.
New patients complete the Power2Patient online questionnaire before their first visit. This gives the physicians a thorough picture of your health history ahead of your appointment, allowing the visit itself to focus on your care rather than paperwork.
Comprehensive Center for Women's Medicine carries its own CCWM-branded nutraceuticals and partners with several professional-grade supplement lines, including Orenda, Metagenics, NuMedica, Designs for Health, and Researched Nutritionals. Physicians recommend specific products based on each patient's clinical needs and test results.
