Dr. Vy Chu charges $95 per month for his DPC membership. The practice also offers lower household rates for couples, throuples, poly relationships, and families with multiple adults. Both FSA funds and, starting January 1, 2026, HSA funds cover the monthly fee.

The membership covers all office visits, virtual care through the patient portal or phone, preventive care, urgent same or next day appointments, chronic disease management, gender-affirming hormone therapy and monitoring, PrEP prescription and monitoring, HIV care, STI screening, pre-operative clearance, and in-office procedures like cryotherapy, skin tag removals, EKGs, pap smears, ear lavage, and incision and drainage of abscesses. Lab and pathology fees apply separately for procedures requiring them.

No. Capitol Hill Medical does not bill insurance for DPC membership fees. The practice charges patients directly to remove insurance from the primary care relationship. You should still carry insurance for services outside the practice, such as specialist care, hospitalization, imaging, and labs.

The practice accepts FSA payments for DPC membership fees, though your FSA administrator may have specific rules about monthly versus lump-sum payments. Starting January 1, 2026, Capitol Hill Medical will also accept HSA funds for monthly membership fees.

Yes. Members can reach Dr. Chu through the patient portal or by phone without booking an in-person visit. Virtual care is part of the standard membership with no additional fees or copays.

Yes. Capitol Hill Medical offers same-day and next-day appointments for urgent needs. That access is built into the standard membership at no extra cost.

Yes. Capitol Hill Medical explicitly welcomes LGBTQ+ patients. Dr. Chu provides gender-affirming hormone therapy and monitoring, PrEP prescription and monitoring, HIV care, and STI screening as part of the standard membership.

Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time by sending written notice by email or through the patient portal. The practice prorates your final monthly fee to the date it receives your notice. After cancellation, you cannot rejoin for one full year. An exception applies for Dr. Chu's patients who joined during his first year of DPC; if care elsewhere proves substandard, Dr. Chu will waive the one-year waiting period and accept them back.

Yes. As long as your DPC account stays active, Dr. Chu remains your primary care provider. Changes to your employment or insurance plan, including a switch to a public plan like Apple Care or Medicare, do not affect your relationship with the practice.

Prospective patients can sign up through the Capitol Hill Medical website. The practice is located at Cabrini Medical Tower, 901 Boren Avenue Suite 705, Seattle, WA 98104. The office is open weekdays from 9am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 9am to 2pm on Fridays.
