About
Dr. Vineeth Sankoorikal grew up in Russellville, Arkansas with a love for taking things apart to understand how they worked. His father, an engineer, suggested he could apply that same curiosity to the human body. That idea set him on the path to medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree at St. Bonaventure University in New York, then completed his MD at the American University of the Caribbean. His Family Medicine residency took place at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was selected as Chief Resident.
After residency, Dr. Sankoorikal took his first position on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis. He later returned to the Jackson area to be closer to family and founded Sankoorikal Family Medicine to practice medicine the way he believed it should work. He is board certified in Family Medicine and sees patients across the full age spectrum. His clinical interests include chronic disease management, preventive care, mental health support, grief, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. He approaches each patient as a whole person, weaving together physical health, lifestyle, and personal context into every encounter. He lives in Ridgeland with his wife Jessica and their two daughters.
