About

Dr. Sarah Asch holds triple board certification in Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Pediatric Dermatology, a combination that few physicians achieve. Her training path reflects deep commitment to the field. She earned a BA in Chemistry from Grinnell College in 1999, then completed a Master's degree in Immunology through the University of Minnesota's MICaB Program before entering medicine. She also worked at 3M during that period. Medical school followed at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned her MD in 2009. She then completed a three-year Pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, a three-year Dermatology residency at the University of California San Francisco, and a Pediatric Dermatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

After fellowship, Dr. Asch became the first full-time pediatric dermatologist at HealthPartners and Park Nicollet Medical Groups. She spent six years there, helped recruit two additional pediatric dermatologists, and co-founded a new dermatology residency program. She founded Hometown Pediatric Dermatology in 2022. She serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Minnesota Dermatology Department, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University, and Principal Investigator for the Pediatric Dermatology ECHO at the UMMC Telehealth Center of Excellence. She chairs the Teledermatology Committee for the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and serves on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board for FIRST, the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types. Since 2016, she has volunteered through FIRST's Tele-ichthyosis program, providing specialty care to patients around the world. org.
