Dr. Sanaz Askari earned her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in 1995 with a double major. Before medical school, she spent several years conducting graduate research in Immunology at Harvard Medical School, co-authoring numerous scientific publications. She graduated with honors from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. Her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine took place at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco.
Dr. Askari moved to Central Oregon in January 2006 and spent seven years in hospitalist medicine before joining Cascade Internal Medicine Specialists in February 2011. She continues to cover hospital shifts at St. Charles Healthcare System to maintain her inpatient skills. She holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Fellow distinction from the American College of Physicians. She currently chairs the Central Oregon Independent Practice Association Board of Directors.
