Dr. Ryan SmithMD

Dr. Ryan Smith brings a rare combination of anesthesiology training and age-management medicine to Better Life Carolinas. He grew up in the Atlanta area and completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University. He then spent nearly a decade in Minnesota, earning his medical degree and completing his residency at the Mayo Clinic. After finishing his anesthesiology training, he relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he practiced anesthesiology for 15 years. A long-time patient of Dr. Barber, Dr. Smith discovered a passion for age-management medicine that led him to join Better Life Carolinas in August 2022. He holds advanced training in age-management medicine through the Age Management Medicine Group, certification in genomic interpretation through IntellxxDNA, and certification in hyperbaric oxygen therapy through the International Board of Undersea Medicine. He serves as medical director of the practice's hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit and devotes a significant portion of his clinical work to interpreting genomic studies.
