Dr. Christopher StephensonMD

Dr. Christopher G. Stephenson is a board-certified cardiologist and clinical lipidology specialist who founded Pure Cardiology in Charlotte, NC. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1992. Before medical school, he worked as a Research Associate at the National Institutes of Health. He earned his MD from St. George's University School of Medicine in 1997.

Dr. Stephenson completed his Internal Medicine internship, residency, and Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island between 1997 and 2003. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography, Clinical Lipidology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Interpretation. In 2010, he earned the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation credential from ARDMS. He completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in 2011 and a Plant-Based Professional Certification from Rouxbe Cooking School in 2014. Dr. Stephenson is passionate about cardiometabolic risk assessment, precision diagnostics, and integrating lifestyle optimization with thoughtful medication management. He actively reviews current cardiovascular, metabolic, and longevity research to keep his clinical recommendations current and evidence-based.
