About
Rosa A. Torres, MD grew up in Leon, Nicaragua, where she completed her medical education at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua. She had begun an Intensive Care residency there when war disrupted her training and prompted her and her husband to relocate to the United States. After arriving, she worked to pass her US medical equivalences and entered the Wichita Falls Family Medicine Residency Program in Wichita Falls, Texas. Upon finishing her residency, she joined the faculty of that same program.
Dr. Torres then co-founded Texoma Family Clinic with her husband, Dr. Oscar C. Torres Jr., where she practiced family medicine for over 23 years. She later joined a regional physician group before co-founding Texoma Direct Primary Care in January 2019. Dr. Torres treats patients across the lifespan, with particular focus on well woman care, newborn and pediatric care, and chronic disease management. She invests ongoing time in continuing education to keep her clinical skills current. Her guiding conviction is that medical care grows simpler and more effective when patients and physicians make decisions together, without third-party involvement.
