Dr. Rob Spiegel founded Signature Health in 2008 after building a career across hospital medicine, emergency care, and critical transport. He trained at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, where he served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine, worked as an Attending Physician in Emergency Medicine, and flew as a Flight Physician on the Lifesaver Helicopter. He holds board certification in Internal Medicine and earned his MD from Mercer University School of Medicine in 1998. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at Davidson College and his premed studies at Georgia State University.

Dr. Spiegel serves as Medical Director for Compassus Hospice in Birmingham and Medical Director for Palliative Care and Informatics with St. Vincent's Health System. Since 2002, he has been a member of Hospital Care Associates of St. Vincent's Hospital, admitting and supervising patients there. He has instructed Carraway medical residents, UAB nurse practitioner students, and Samford University pharmacy students. A native of Atlanta, he lives in Forest Park with his wife Monica and their son. He volunteers with Scouts BSA and enjoys high-adventure trips and family travel.
