Dr. Michelle SeeligMD, MSHS

Family Medicine

at MDSeelig — Seattle, WA

About

Dr. Michelle Seelig brings twenty years of clinical experience to her role as founder of MDSeelig in Seattle. She earned her undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University, gaining acceptance to medical school during her sophomore year through Mount Sinai's Humanities and Medicine program. That program recruited students from five liberal arts colleges, including Amherst, Brandeis, Princeton, Wesleyan, and Williams. Her senior thesis examined the historical shift from midwife-assisted to physician-assisted birth at the turn of the 20th century. She graduated from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

After residency, Dr. Seelig pursued an NIH-funded research fellowship examining fragmentation in the American healthcare system. The fellowship explored how better collaboration between specialists and primary care physicians could improve the quality and cohesiveness of patient care. She also holds an MSHS degree. Before founding MDSeelig, she practiced at two Seattle direct primary care practices, Bliss MD and Seattle Premier Health. Outside the office, she spends time with her spouse Jude and their three teenage boys at home. She practices Pilates and circuit training, enjoys stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, reads widely, and meets regularly with a documentary film club.
