About

Dr. Melissa Chan founded Lotus Health in Salt Lake City in January 2019 after a career spanning multiple states and countries. She earned her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency in Florida. She then pursued a fellowship in Medical Humanities, specifically the Art in Medicine program, at Georgetown University, where resident physicians honored her with a teaching award for excellence in clinical education and patient-centered communication.

Dr. Chan holds double board certification in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine and carries the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner designation. Her clinical career has taken her from New Zealand to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked with UC Berkeley and Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, providing outpatient primary care and women's health services including prenatal group care and outpatient gynecology. She also serves as a physician consultant for the Orientation Center for the Blind in California.
