Dr. Matthew Libby is a board-certified family physician, osteopathic doctor, and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst before completing his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of New England, where he received the Sauter Award for Graduate with Distinction. He went on to train at the Tufts-affiliated Lawrence Family Medicine Residency at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, nationally recognized as the first Teaching Health Center program. Faculty and junior residents alike honored him with teaching awards during that time.

After residency, Dr. Libby moved to Cape Cod as a National Health Service Corps Scholar, practicing in federally-designated primary care shortage areas from Wellfleet to Hyannis. He completed the Linde Fellowship in Primary Care Leadership at Harvard and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In 2024, he joined the first cohort of physicians nationwide to earn the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Healthcare Administration, Leadership, and Management from the American Board of Family Medicine. He serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians and holds an Instructor appointment in Family Medicine and Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School. His clinical work spans preventive care, complex chronic disease management, and in-office procedures including skin biopsies, joint injections, and laceration repairs. As an osteopathic physician, he incorporates Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for interested patients. He currently pursues additional training in lifestyle medicine. Outside the clinic, Dr. Libby enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, and photography, and spends time with his three children and his partner Kelly, a licensed mental health counselor whose independent practice shares the Brewster clinic space.
